Are there special activities for families to participate in?

Families are encouraged to participate in special events that the Center offers. Some events held throughout the years include: Lady’s Tea Party, Pop’s Picnic, Christmas Open House, and Stay & Play Event.

How do I receive information on upcoming events and pertinent information?

All families will receive a monthly newsletter informing them of upcoming events and other pertinent information. Parents are encouraged to check their parent mailboxes each day your child attends.

How can I volunteer at Black River Child Care?

Black River Child Care appreciates all volunteers. There are a variety of different ways you can volunteer. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are interested in volunteering in your child’s classroom. Please visit Volunteer for suggestions on volunteer ideas.

How can I donate to Black River Child Care?

Black River Child Care appreciates all forms of donations. The families we serve and the community in general, have been very generous in supporting the many needs of our Center through a variety of different donations. Your child’s teacher will post in the monthly newsletter a list of donations that will enhance their curriculum. Please visit Donations for suggestions of appreciated donations. All donations are tax deductible.

Are parents asked to participate in fundraisers?

Participation in fundraising by parents is desired. The Center conducts at least two fundraiser events each year. This allows the Center to purchase needed classroom and playground items, and perform needed maintenance to our facility.

Are there Parent/Teacher conferences?

Parent/Teacher conferences are held two times per year.

Can I visit my child during the day and/or join my child for lunch?

Yes, our Center has an open door policy. Parents are welcome at any time of the day. If you would like to join your child for lunch simply let your child’s teacher know when you drop off your child to ensure that the cook prepares an extra meal for you. There is a nominal charge for the extra adult meal.
